Bonham

Located 30 miles west of Paris on U.S. 82, features the Sam Rayburn Library and Home, the Fannin County Museum of History, as well as Ft. Inglish Park which features a replica of an old fort and restored log cabins.

Clarksville

Located 38 miles east of Paris, Clarksville is the county seat for Red River County which is one of the original Texas counties.
"Victorian" describes the busienss district on the square, with the oldest structure dating from 1885. Recently designated a Texas Main Street City.
Attractions include eclectic monthly performances at The Old Church Theater.

Cooper Lake & Parks

    Located 20 miles southwest of Paris on the South Sulphur River, this 23,000-acre lake is designed to be the future "Hottest Fishing Lake in Texas."  It is home to the Cooper Lake Center (sponsored by the South Sulphur Regional Development Association), where musical and dramatic events are presented on an outdoor stage.  The Center's plans for the future include a replica Caddo Indian village, a nature trail, and a farmstead typical of the early 1900s.  For a listing of upcoming events and information, visit www.ssrda.com.

Greenville

Located 50 miles southwest of Paris on S.H. 19/24 and 224. Greenville is home to Mary of Puddin' Hill (famous for chocolate and fruitcakes), antique and specialty shops, the Audie Murphy Room at the American Cotton museum and two wineries in their historic downtown.

Hugo

Located 25 miles north of Paris across the Red River. Hugo boasts Hugo Lake, Grants Bluegrass Festival, Hugo Historical Railroad and Depot Museum. Known as "Circus City U.S.A.", as many as five circuses have "wintered" there. Tours of the animals are given from November-March.

Red River Valley Tourism Association

Meander through the counties along the Red River and discover treasures of an historic and entertaining nature.
U. S. Highways 82 and 287 will take you from one end of the region to the other in Texas. Of course the Red River is claimed by Oklahoma as well and interest abounds to the north.


Sulphur Springs

Located 38 miles south of Paris on S.H. 19. Sulphur Springs offers the Music Box Gallery which contains the "largest collection of music boxes in the world", the Hopkins County Museum, and Heritage park, an 11 acre complex that includes original historic homes, shops, and malls, and the Southwest Dairy Center.
